This is where I bring together the things I actually build: thoughtful tools, structured processes and collaborative formats.

Over the years I’ve designed products, built communities and shaped learning spaces. Behind each project is a clear question: what impact are we creating?

XING – Insights

As a Product Designer for the Insights section, I am leading the transformation from a traditional social network to a professional life companion. My responsibilities include conducting and overseeing product discoveries, designing and testing prototypes, and managing the implementation of new features into the app.

Salary Module

One of the main challenges was to present complex salary data in an easily digestible format. This required a design approach that balanced detail with clarity.
I implemented interactive data visualizations that allow users to personalize the information displayed.

Information hierarchy and visual cues were strategically used to guide the user through the salary comparison process, with a clean layout to enhance readability. Once the user enters the current salary, the goal is not only to display comparable data, but also to provide tips and additional content for the job search.

Skills Module

In an effort to enhance user engagement and personalization on XING, I introduced the Skills Module insight the Feed. This iteration aimed to improve the recommendation system, that shuffles skills each time from a larger backend pool and provide a more reliable and user-friendly experience, because users can now easily add popular skills to their profile.

Testing, Outcome & Metrics

We conducted user interviews to gather feedback on the redesigned module. The tests confirmed that users found the new system to be more engaging and felt more confident in managing their skills due to the clear saving mechanism.

The final design was well received, with metrics indicating increased user engagement within the module. The design successfully integrated into the existing platform, providing a seamless user experience.

Weidmüller – ROI Calculator for Wind Turbines

During the relaunch of Weidmüller, the sales team needed a straightforward way to present the BLADEcontrol system for wind turbines. Typically, these presentations are done in person or at trade fairs, but we realized a user-friendly ROI calculator on the website would be beneficial. I collaborated closely with the sales team to convert a complex Excel sheet into an accessible online tool.

The main challenges were simplifying the data complexity and ensuring a seamless user experience. I broke down the calculations into three easy steps and conducted multiple usability tests to make the tool user-friendly and clear for non-technical users.

I worked closely with the sales team to transform the calculations from paper sketches into a clear, three-step process. Using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, I completed the implementation within a month, integrating it seamlessly into the website.

Insights from UX Testing

During development, we considered storing form data locally for returning users. However, usability tests showed that users distrusted local data storage due to privacy concerns, so we decided not to implement this feature. For more insights, read my blog post on the topic.

Case Study for Corporate Fitness App

The challenge was to understand the core features of the app and translate them into a landing page that informs new users about the offerings and how they can register. Knowing that landing pages like this usually take weeks to design, code, and test properly, I focused on the top half of the page, set a 4-hour timer, and went all in with Figma.

Responsiveness in Figma

Despite having only 4 hours, I aimed to create a fully responsive layout. The page is entirely responsive in Figma and structured using components and Auto Layout.
